Wallpaper trends coming your way for 2019.

With trends being what they are, they are constantly changing and transforming. This is particularly relevant when it comes to interior design.  As far as wallpapers go, throughout the years there have been specific fashions and styles.  There is nothing more exciting than finding an old house with layers of paper on the wall and peeling them back to tell a story.

Think romantic, floral and organic.  This style is all about bringing nature from the outside in.  Both small and large blooms add a touch of elegant freshness.  Backgrounds don’t have to be white but may be metallic or even black.  If you would like to add a touch of timeless grace to your room, go for large florals or the slightly tamer organic natural patterns.

Geometric

If your taste is less floral and more contemporary, then some amazing geometric shapes are finding their way onto ranges of the best wallpapers.  With the patterns tending to be small and detailed, on a white background they look impressive in smaller spaces.  For larger areas, be dramatic and bold, maybe using these formal linear patterns on feature walls rather than all over.

Animals get opulent

If your tendency is to err on the wild side, all is not lost.  2019 is going to see some crazy wildcat and reptile prints coming to the fore.  With textures included, if you have a liking for exotic animals, then you will be free to indulge yourself.  But where would you place wallpaper printed in this way?  Think conservatories, bathrooms and even dining areas.  Make areas of your home striking and mysterious, standing out for all of the right reasons.

Natural materials

These have been in vogue for some time and next year are going to back in force.  Think of wallpaper that replicates worn bricks, wood or bark, rough stone or peeling plaster and you have the idea.  This wallpaper is all about capturing the charm of natural materials in the rough to give a warm and inviting atmosphere.  They can look wonderful in the right setting and provide a really relaxed mood.

Achieve a futuristic feel with wallpaper that brings with it a full-on 3D look.  Not harsh or jazzy but in light warm tones such as white, light grey and beige or cream.  Here the 3D images add texture in a very discreet way.  If you want your interior to have a contemporary edge but without harsh lines, you will not go wrong with these designs.

Take your time to choose the right wallpaper.  The best designs may be expensive but will look stunning when on the wall.  Use them to change the whole focus of your room, mixing with painted finishes to coordinate and blend.
